Glossary of Terms

  • Battery Box – Battery box permitted
  • Maximum Conductors – Maximum number of electrical conductors between the amplifier(s) and the sub enclosure. A normal speaker wire is composed of two conductors; 1 for positive and 1 for negative.
  • Normal Use – Normal use restriction applies
  • Podium – Podium use permitted
  • Power - When amplifier power limits are specified, the dBDRA will use Term-LAB to verify compliance during competition.
  • Trunk Vehicle - A vehicle with a closed compartment that is separate from the passenger compartment. Sedans are a good example of a trunk vehicle because the trunk area is separate from the passenger compartment and a steel trunk lid must be opened to access the trunk compartment.
  • Vehicle Mods – Structural vehicle modifications permitted
  • Volts – Battery voltage (value in parenthesis indicates maximum voltage in the lanes)
  • Walls – Walls are permitted
  • Woofers – Number of woofers allowed
