Download Procedure:

  1. Visit the Wayne's World web site at http://www.termpro.com.
  2. Click on the Term-PRO / Term-CAD products link. You will be taken to the Wayne Harris Enterprises home page.
  3. Click on the Technical Support link in the menu frame.
  4. Select Program Updates from the Technical Support topics list and then click on the Display Topics button.
  5. Click on the update you would like to download.
  6. Your browser will ask you if you want to run the program or save it to disk. Select the "save to disk" option.
  7. Save the program to a temporary folder. (You may need to create your own temporary folder. Just click on the yellow folder icon with the asterisk in it to create a new folder.)
  8. After the update file has been saved to disk, exit the browser.
  9. Using the Windows Explorer, open the temporary folder where you saved the update file.
  10. Double click on the update file you just downloaded. The update file is a self-extracting archive file and a number of other files will show up in the temporary folder as they are extracted. (You may need to select View / Refresh in Explorer's drop down menu to see the new files.)

Update Procedure:

  1. Double click on the Setup.exe program in the temporary folder. This will start the Term-PAK installation utility.
  2. Select the desired language.
  3. Select Install.
  4. Enter the Source and Destination drive letters. Typically, the Source Drive will be C and the Desitnation Drive will be C.
  5. The Installation Utility will begin copying files to your hard drive.
  6. Next, the Installation Utility will ask you to insert your MDF diskette into drive A. If you have an MDF diskette, insert it into drive A. If you have a Key diskette (but no MDF diskette), insert the Key diskette into drive A. If you don't have either an MDF diskette or Key diskette, press Esc.
  7. Finally, the Installation Utility may ask you to insert your Key disk. Press Esc to skip this step.
  8. Exit the setup utility after the update has been installed.
  9. Run Term-PAK.
  10. Select About / Term-PAK from the main pull-down menu to verify that the upgrade was successful. (Check the release number.)

Term-LAB Configuration:

If you have the Term-LAB hardware (mics, interface box, soundcard), you MUST follow this procedure after updating your software or your system may not operate properly.

  1. Run Term-PAK
  2. Click on the Term-LAB tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click on the Hardware tab at the top of the screen.
  4. In the center panel (labelled "Interface Box"), you will see a section called, "Microphones." Right now, the serial number under Mic L and Mic R are probably the same (0000). This is where you tell Term-LAB which microphone is attached to the Channel A input on the interface box and the Channel B input on the interface box. Click on the text box containing the serial number of the microphone under Mic L. A scroll box will appear. Select the serial number of the microphone that is attached to Channel A on the interface box. Repeat this procedure for the serial number of the microphone under Mic R.
  5. Next, click on the Edit button immediately to the right of the Mic L serial number. A dialog box will appear. First, click on the Default button at the bottom of the dialog box. Next, look for two data fields at the top of the dialog box. They are labelled, "Min SPL" and "Max SPL". Enter 100 for the Min SPL value and 175 for the Max SPL value. Click on the Save button. Repeat this procedure for Mic R.
  6. Disconnect any inputs to the interface box. (Mics, Line-IN, or High-Level). Insure that the interface box is receiving power and that the interface box is properly connected to the sound card.
  7. Press the A/D Offset button in the Soundcard panel.
  8. Press Next.
  9. Press Start.
  10. After the calibration is complete, press Save.
