 1998 World Finals Info
The dB Drag Racing Association has announced that the dB Drag Racing World Finals will take place on November 14-15, 1998 at the Nashville Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to Wayne Harris, president and founder of the dBDRA, Nashville was selected due to the large number of dB Drag Racing competitors in that part of the country. Nashville is the ideal location for hosting our World Finals. Since competitors must qualify for the Finals this year, it only makes sense to locate the event as close to the majority of our competitors as possible.
The dB Drag Racing World Finals is a two-day event, with qualifying taking place on Saturday and the Eliminations taking place on Sunday. Each competitor will be assigned their own pit area inside the convention center. A minimum $10,000 purse will be distributed to winners in this years event.
The dBDRA will also be introducing two new classes at this years World Finals. the Extreme class and the Enduro class. We are especially excited about the new Enduro power class, states Harris. In an Enduro-style competition, we take the average SPL over a 30 second time period.
This years event will also be broadcast live over the Internet via dBTV. For the first time ever, autosound enthusiasts from around the world will be able to tune-in and watch the event in real-time, explains Harris. Our goal has always been to stimulate interest and participation in autosound and autosound competition.
