 1999 World Finals Info
The dB Drag Racing Association has announced that the 1999 dB Drag Racing World Finals will take place on October 16-17, 1999 at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center in Louisville, KY.
According to Wayne Harris, president and founder of the dBDRA, Louisville was selected for it’s expansive facilities and it’s close proximity to dB Drag Racing competitors. “After the great show we had in ‘98, and with the explosive growth we’ve seen this year, we want to ensure that we have enough space to accommodate our exhibitors and competitors alike. With over a million square feet, the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center provides us with the space we need today and gives us room for expansion in the future.”
The dB Drag Racing World Finals is a two-day event, with qualifying taking place on Saturday and the Elimination Rounds taking place on Sunday. Participation is by invitation only and is based on the number of points competitors accumulate throughout the regular competition season. All participants at the Finals will be assigned a “pit stall” in a reserved area of the Expo Center called “dB Alley.”
This year’s event will be broadcast “live” via the Internet. “dBTV continues to be a major hit.” explains Harris. “Last year, more than 6,000 viewers ‘tuned-in’ to watch the Finals. This year, we expect that number to double.”
