I would like to make everyone aware of a very serious situation that is currently taking place in Mexico. Normally, we do not discuss matters such as this in a public forum but the gravity of the situation necessitates an official response by the dBDRA.
An individual in Mexico is currently promoting an event in Pachuca Hidalgo on July 7-8, 2018. The event is being advertised as a dB Drag Racing event. This is not the case.
This event is a "pirated" event. Contestants participating in the show will not receive a Certified Score or points for participating in the show. The dBDRA and its representatives are not involved with this event and none of our Certified Judges will be present.
The dBDRA takes matters such as this very seriously. Our attorneys are actively engaged in stopping this individual from using our names in this manner but significant confusion has already resulted because the individual has been promoting the event as a dB Drag Racing event on social media.
To be perfectly clear, this individual does not have a legitimate relationship with the dBDRA. He does not have the authority to promote dBDRA events and his claims regarding a new dBDRA "President" in Mexico are totally false.
The dBDRA has an extensive presence in Mexico. We have sanctioned more than 415 shows in Mexico over the past 17 years. Pirated events such as this undermine the credibility of dB Drag Racing and deceive our competitors. We are confident that our legal team will quickly prevail in this situation but that probably won't happen before next weekend's event. This notice is an attempt to mitigate the confusion and deception that is currently surrounding the event.
Contestants should ALWAYS verify that an event is listed on the official dBDRA Event Calendar on Termpro.com prior to attending a show.
