If you are reading this article you have probably encounted a problem while trying to download and install Apps to your original iPad1. As you know, newer versions of iOS are not compatible with the iPad1. And, since many App developers no longer support older versions of iOS (like that found on the iPad1), installing these apps is no longer possible.
Here is a workaround that will allow you to download the most recent version of the App that was still compatible with the iPad1. There are two parts to this process.
On Your Computer
- Launch iTunes
- Click on the "iTunes Store" button.
- Click on "App Store" on the menu bar.
- Search for the iPad App you would like to install
- Click on the "Download" button underneath the app you would like to install. Make sure your selection is from the "iPad Apps" section.
On Your iPad1
- Launch the "App Store"
- Click on "Purchased" at the bottom of the screen
- You should now see the App(s) you downloaded on your computer
- Click on the App and then click on the "Install" button.
- You will receive a notification asking if you want to "Download an older version of this app?". Click on "Download".
- The app will download and install on your iPad1
