iTunes Match is a fantastic product that allows you to store copies of your iTunes music library in the cloud. But, if you ever decide to update the album artwork associated with one or more of your albums you may encouter a problem where iTunes Match will cause your updated artwork to disappear and the original artwork will be displayed instead.
This article describes a workaround for this problem.
- Launch iTunes.
- Turn off iTunes Match in iTunes. (In Windows, select the drop-down icon in the top, left-corner of iTunes and then select "iTunes Store / Turn Off iTunes Match".)
- Locate the ALBUM you wish to update in iTunes and remove all of the downloaded artwork for that albumn. (In Windows, right-click on the album and select "Clear Downloaded Artwork.")
- Locate the ALBUM you wish to update in iTunes and select "Get Info". (In Windows, right-click on the album and select "Get Info".)
- Select the checkbox next to the "Artwork" box on the "Info" tab. (Leave the Artwork box empty for now.)
- Click on "OK". iTunes will clear the artwork for EACH SONG on the album.
- Select ANY SONG on the album in iTunes. (In Windows, right-click on the song and select "Show in Windows Explorer."
- Delete ALL ".jpg" images in the folder (including hidden .jpg images). Close Windows Explorer.
- Locate the ALBUM you wish to update in iTunes and select "Get Info".
- Paste the desired artwork into the "Artwork" box.
- Click on "OK". iTunes will update the artwork for EACH SONG on the album.
- Turn on iTunes Match. (In Windows, select the drop-down icon in the top, left-corner of iTunes and then select 'iTunes Store / Turn On iTunes Match".)
iTunes Match should sync with the changes in iTunes.
