===== INTRODUCTION =====
Lets get ready to CRANK IT UP! Tuner Bash is almost here and Im sure everyone is ready to have a great time in beautiful Daytona Beach, Florida. As you know, the dBDRA has partnered with Super Street magazine to bring you TUNER BASH, a combination car show and dB Drag Racing competition. (TUNER BASH is located at the Plaza Resort and Spa, about 5 blocks North of the Ocean Center.) This event is going to be HUGE! In fact, the show has grown so large that everything is going to be really, really tight. I would like to ask for everyones assistance in advance so that we can pull this show off in 2 days, instead of 3.
Our first challenge is going to be space. With more than 250 cars competing in the car show, 100 cars competing in the Dyno competition, and 200-300 cars competing in the dB Drag Racing competition, space is at an absolute premium. Add to that 150,000 party hungry Spring Breakers and you start to get an idea as to the challenges we will all face.
We have 3 areas set aside for dB Drag Racing parking. The primary space is on the beach. We also have 2 parking lots reserved explicitly for Extreme Division competitors. To streamline qualifying, each competitor will be assigned a sequential number when they register. The first person to register will be number 1, the second will be number 2, and so on. We will qualify competitors based on their registration number. I strongly encourage you to register early and go through the qualifying rounds as soon as possible. Then, you can spend the rest of the day playing on the beach, watching the competition, or doing whatever people do when they go to Daytona Beach for Spring Break. :)
In conclusion, this event will be a little more difficult to participate in than you may be used to. However, the stakes are much, much higher. Next year, we will have a lot more space to work with. Oh, did I mention the 2 concerts that will be taking place at OUR EVENT?! The first will be the Goo Goo Dolls. It is a FREE concert that will take place on Friday, March 22nd at 8:00 PM. The second concert is Crystal Method and it will take place on Saturday night. Tickets will be required for this one.
PLEASE DRIVE SAFELY!!!!!!!
PLEASE CHECK AND DOUBLE CHECK YOUR TRAILER!!!!!!!
GET PLENTY OF REST ALONG THE WAY!!!!!!!
